Jefferson County Recycling and Transfer Station Replacement
The existing solid waste facility was designed and constructed in the late-1970s. The County’s population is projected to increase by 32% by 2040, which will have a significant impact on service delivery and customer service expectations. Requirements regarding safety, service levels, sustainability, fees, and regulations developed through this project will need to reflect the County’s changing demographics, a continually evolving climate, a dynamic global economy, and modern technological capabilities.
VIKEK, under contract with the County, is completing assessment of alternative replacement sites and associated recycling and transfer facility conceptual design plans for a new facility that will meet current solid waste management level of service needs.
